Kuldeep Yadav was instrumental in Delhi Capitals first match against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022. He only gave away 18 runs in his 4 overs and got 3 wickets including key wickets of Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard. In his IPL comeback match, he proved once again that he is too good a bowler to sit out of playing eleven.

Former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif seemed impressed by his performance and talking on ‘Straight Talk‘ (Program of Sportskeeda on Youtube), He said, “Kuldeep Yadav is a proven match-winner. But he is someone who also needs to be managed well. He is a bit emotional and feels low if he isn’t given the bowling or is dropped from the team.”

He also said he was not treated well in his previous franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders.

“The way he was treated at KKR when Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan were the captains, he used to be made to sit at home and not even in the squad. When you behave like this, any match-winner feels the pressure,” kaif added.

Kaif was also all praise for Delhi Capital’s spinner Axar Patel.

Axar was expensive bowling against Mumbai Indians but while batting with Lalit Yadav, he stitched a partnership of 75 in just 30 balls to win the match. Axar smashed 38 of just 17 with 3 maximums and 2 boundaries with a strike rate of  223.52.

“Axar Patel’s career is progressing similar to that of Ravindra Jadeja. When Jadeja was new, he used to bowl well, but it was only later that his batting improved. Axar has a great bat-swing and has the ability to hit good bowlers like Bumrah. Finishing a game with the bat is not what he is known for but he will only get better with confidence.” Kaif said.
