Colombo saw lots of rain in the past couple of days, and rained heavily today as well. keeping that in mind, Captain Aaron Finch decided to bowl first after winning the toss for Australia.
Danushka Gunathilaka got off to a flyer. He smashed 26 off just 15 balls with 3 boundaries and a six. Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka scored a partnership of 61 runs in quick time. SL were 100 for 1 in just 11 overs and after that it all went down hill for them.
Mitchell Starc removed Pathum Nissanka (36) in the 12th over.

Chasing a small total. David Warner and Aaron Finch started consciously as Sri Lanka started with the spin. They unleashed in the 5th over and smashed Wanindu Hasaranga for 19 runs. Australia reached 50 in 5.1 overs. Australia are world champions and they played like world champions. David Warner hit his 5th consecutive 50 against Sri Lanka.
