Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Sri Lanka women lost their captain Chamari Athapaththu cheaply for 2. SL-W lost Hansima Karunaratne for duck in the7th over. Hasini Perera and Harshitha Samarawickrama batted with some patience and were developing a partnership but Deepti Sharma trapped Perera for 37. Harshitha Samarawickrama (28) was out LBW by Vastrakar that left SL-W reeling at 84/5.

Nilakshi de Silva played a good hand of 43 runs in 63 balls to take SL-W to a respectable total of 171 in 48.2 overs. Renuka Singh took 3 for 29 in 6 overs.

Deepti Sharma

also took 3 wickets for India. Pooja Vastrakar chipped away 2 for 26 in 5 overs.

Chasing a small total IND-W lost two top order batters for just 17 runs on the board. Smriti Mandhana and Yastika Bhatia were cleaned up by Ranasinghe for 4 and 1 runs respectively. Shafali Verma and captain Harmanpreet stitched a much needed partnership of 44 runs. Shafali Verma got out after scoring a brisk 35 off 40 balls with couple of sixes and a boundary.

Harleen Deol and Kaur made a partnership of 62 in quick time to stay on the top of the run chase. Inoka Ranaweera trapped both set batters LBW to bring Sri Lanka back in the game somewhat. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 44 off 63 balls while Harleen Deol made 34 from 40 balls. Kaur completed 3000 ODI runs during her innings.

With 42 to get in 23 overs, IND-W reached the target in 38th over. Deepti Sharma (22) and Pooja Vastrakar (21) saw India home.
