INDIA
India won the 1st ODI by 3 runs in what was a nail-biting cricket match. Shikhar Dhawan led from the front and scored 97 runs. He gave a brilliant start with Gill at the top. What would worry India though that even after scoring 300+ runs they received a fierce competition from West Indies. They batted well but they need to bowl according to the field going forward. Axar Patel needs to take wickets in the middle overs which he failed to do in the first ODI. Chahal, Siraj and Thakur bowled well in the first game. Team India will want to put up a better performance in the second ODI.
WEST INDIES
West Indies will be very happy with the way they played in the 1st oDI after the hammering they got from Bangladesh in the previous ODI series. WI did almost everything right in the first game but lost the match. One thing that they need to do is – not throw wickets in the middle especially when a batter is set. Kyle Mayers was batting brilliantly but threw his wicket. Captain Nicholas Pooran was going well but took an unnecessary risk. If they play with bit more application in the middle they can beat this Indian team.
