While batting, Sanju Samson could only score 12 off 18 balls and will consider himself unlucky as he was given out LBW when the ball was just clipping the top of leg stump. Had field umpire not given him out, he would have stayed on the wicket. It was not his batting which took everybody’s attention in the first ODI. It was his wicket-keeping skills that stole the limelight. He was just brilliant behind the wicket.

15 runs were required off last 6 balls. Akeal Hosein (32) and Romario Shepherd (39) were batting beautifully. Special effort behind the wickets from Indian Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson

stopped a definite four on the fifth ball of the final over and at the end India won the nail-biter by 3 runs. Samson saved the wide ball from Siraj leaping to his left. His stop was the diffence as he saved the crucial 4 runs.
