Narendra Modi Stadium awarded the Guinness Book of World Records for hosting the biggest crowd attendance in a T20 match during IPL 2022 final

Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is expected to host a day night test match between India and Australia in the month of FEB-MARCH of 2023. This gigantic stadium is in the news again. Narendra Modi Stadium received the Guinness world record for hosting a biggest crowd attendance in a T20 match.

IPL 2022 final was played in Narendra Modi stadium on 29th May between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. Stadium witnessed an attendance of 1,01,566 spectators during the final.

BCCI announced the news on twitter today.

“A proud moment for everyone as India creates the Guinness World Record. This one is for all our fans for their unmatched passion and unwavering support. Congratulations to @GCAMotera and @IPL.”

also shared the news and thanked fans for continuous support. Through his twitter handle he said –

“Extremely delighted & proud to receive the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a T20 match when 101,566 people witnessed the epic @IPL final at @GCAMotera’s magnificent Narendra Modi Stadium on 29 May 2022. A big thanks to our fans for making this possible! @BCCI.”

New Motera Stadium (renamed as Narendra Modi) can host 1,10,000 fans, almost 10,000 more in numbers than Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This stadium has hosted 10 international matches since 2021 including a pink ball test.
