England became the first team to score more than 500 runs on an opening day of a test match. It was an absolute crazy day of test cricket today. England is talking on host Pakistan in the 3 match test series. 24 hours before the first day, England team had some concerns of sickness in the camp but they came out firing on the Rawalpindi pitch.
Needless to say, the pitch was flat as a pancake. England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bat first. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett opened the innings, got off to a flier and all of a sudden First day of a test match turned into a T20 match. They both added 233 runs for the 1st wicket in just 35.4 overs. Zak smashed 86 balls Test 100. Ben Duckett too went on to make his century, he scored 107 off 110 balls with 15 boundaries. Four of 5 England’s top order batters scored rapid hundreds.
At the end of days play, England were at 506/4. It was highest number of runs scored on the first day of a test match ever. Harry Brook (101* off 81 balls) who reached to his hundred in just 81 balls is still on the crease with Ben Stokes (34* off 15) who is striking at 226.66 on the other end.

Ollie Pope also joined the party and made 108 off 104 balls during England’s record breaking first day total. Pakistan bowlers had a disappointing day and they will have to bowl out of their skin on the second day to stay in this test match.
